We're always on the lookout for a good dumpling place. Yinxiang Jiaozi is one of the more appealing pit stops in the south Auchan complex. The till has a sign board with the day's fresh jiaozi, as well as several cold vegetable and meat dishes, and a soup or two. Although dumplings are the main draw here the cold dishes are worth some attention. They provide some welcome green options and have a good mix of local and northern food. We even saw one couple digging into pidong, which is northeastern meat jelly.

We decided to try the soup and were served crocks full of rich chicken broth with ginkgo, goji berries, dates, and chunks of bone-in chicken. Very nice. The jiaozi of the day were beef and celery (芹菜牛肉) and pork and cabbage (白菜). The beef and celery had an unusually fresh flavor, with bright green vegetables inside, and tasted great. They have the usual suspects on the condiment tray – garlic puree, soy sauce, black vinegar, salt, sugar, msg, and hot pepper oil. We did miss the sesame oil, however.

The unfortunate lack of tasty and reasonable lunch options in the area means this place is packed at meal times. It's a great place to go if you want to chat with strangers over your food. The servers are courteous and usually efficient, but the day we went there was a bit of a lag. A few tables were complaining about how long they had to wait for their jiaozi, and the servers were explaining they had only two pots to use and would not mix up the orders. We admire their commitment to quality. Expect to pay 10-20RMB/person.
